Becky’s Bites of Life:
Here’s a little snippet of my life lately! (Follow me on Instagram for more!)
Arizona/Las Vegas Vacation
We took a much-needed vacation a couple of weeks ago. We visited Derek’s grandma in Mesa, Arizona and stopped in Las Vegas both ways, taking our time traveling since our kids are young. It was such a good trip! We love traveling and even though it’s not easy with little ones it is so worth it! I feel like it really helped us get closer as a family.
Some of our favorite things:
-Seeing our kids get to know their great grandma better.
-Picking lemons and grapefruit from her trees in her backyard. (I wish I could have citrus trees!)
-Visiting Hole in the Rock (the picture you see above and the one at the top of the post.) It’s such a beautiful place with an easy and short hike with a great view!
–The Children’s Museum in Phoenix. All our kids loved it!
–M&M’s World in Las Vegas. They have every color of M&M you can think of and more!
-And of course, eating fabulous food!
Favorite Eats in Las Vegas and Phoenix
Donut Bar(In Las Vegas but they have other locations as well!)
Omelet House (Las Vegas)
The Egg & I (Las Vegas)
Stufrageous Burgers (Mesa, Arizona)
Lucky’s Donuts (Arizona)
Bella is almost 5 months!
Bella is my everything! We spend pretty much every second together. She’s such a sweetheart. My love for her is deep and just keeps growing! She is also so very loved by her daddy and siblings. This picture of her I took recently has my other daughter’s duck in it because she put it next to Bella even though it’s her favorite stuffed animal.
Some fun things about Bella lately:
-She smiles a lot, it’s like a full body smile! Her whole face lights up when she smiles. She likes to see herself in the mirror and smile so big!
-She has the cutest coos.
-Bella is a night owl but once she is asleep she’ll stay asleep for a solid 7-8 hours!
-She’s working on rolling over and will get there soon.
-Bella fills our home and hearts with so much love and joy for each of us. It’s really quite amazing!
Getting my Energy Up:
I don’t know exactly why but it took me longer than usual post birth to get back to where I wanted to be energy wise. I still need a nap some days depending on how much sleep I’ve gotten the night before but I am feeling much better than I was two months ago. October to mid-December I was sick every couple of weeks and just had a lack of energy. I got so tired of it (literally haha) and prayed so hard to know what to do to feel better.
Here are some things that have helped me get my energy up:
-The #1 thing that helped me was taking Iron pills. I realized I hadn’t taken them for about 2 months and once I started taking them again I felt like a new person!
-I also started taking probiotics which seemed to help my immunity.
-I’m a light sleeper and my cousin told me about Magnesium. I started taking 1 or 2 pills before bed and ever since then I have been sleeping so much deeper and am not waking up as often in the night. It seriously has been life changing! I only take it occasionally now and I still sleep pretty great most nights.
-I’ve been eating healthier. Not perfect but much better. I am eating more vegetables, fruits, whole grains etc. and enjoying it! I’m finding simple but tasty ways to enjoy it all. I am realizing I really do enjoy healthy foods and often even more so than unhealthy quick junk food. I am paying more attention to how eating healthy makes me feel and that helps me to want it even more!
-I still have a way to go to lose all the baby weight and get in shape but life is still so crazy now and my baby is growing up fast so I am being patient with myself. I am exclusively breastfeeding so I know that’s part of the reason why my body is holding on to the weight despite exercising and eating better.
Well, that’s my little update for now! If you’ve read this far I’d love to hear from you in a comment! Honestly, it’s been hard keeping up these posts when it seems like no one is reading it because of the lack of comments. I hope this post was helpful and fun to read! I’d love if you just say a quick “hi” in the comments!
Thanks for reading my blog. I am so grateful for you all! I’d love to hear favorite vacations you’ve been on recently and what you are looking forward to this March!
Stay tuned for more easy and delicious recipes!

I read your blog everytime it pops up on my emails. Although I don’t respond all the time, I do enjoy your recipes. But what I enjoy reading about the most is just your every day-to-day life (whqt you have learned) and your family (a.k.a. my adorable grandchildren!) You truly have a talent in the kitchen and our family benefits mostly from it. Dad and I love your jalapeno pinwhweels your shared last month. Thanks Becky! Love you!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your support. You’re the best and I love that you enjoy my kitchen creations! 🙂
