Dinosaur Birthday Party

July 10, 2014 by becky 10 Comments

Dinosaur Birthday Party

My sweet little Levi turned 5 last month! He LOVES dinosaurs! So much that we went on a trip to Dinosaurland just for him (and his little brother who also loves dinosaurs.) I’m the kind of person to keep things simple but I love to have a theme to parties. I think his party turned out great and most important he loved it!

Invitations:

Dinosuar Birthday Party InvitationI first printed the words on white cardstock then used my Silhouette and sketch pens for the dinosaurs. It was my first time using sketch pens and I LOVED how it turned out! Super simple and fun.

Decorations:

Dinosaur Birthday PartyThings didn’t end up as planned because we had to change locations due to crazy wind but I think it turned out great! I had this adorable celebrate banner from Stampin’ Up. I got so many compliments on it! And I am so excited to be doing a giveaway so you can win your own along with a colorful banner kit! (Giveaway will be in my next post!)

Dinosaur BannerLevi helped me put it together and requested dinosaurs so I added 3 on each side. I LOVED it and so did he!

Cupcakes & Ice Cream

Dinosaur Cupcake ToppersI made these cupcake toppers and was so happy about how they turned out! I just taped a toothpick to the back and it was perfect!

Dinosaur Cupcakes I added cute labels to a few things.

Levi requested chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. I used this recipe for the cupcakes and this recipe for the frosting. (I did half dark/half Dutch cocoa powder.)

Dinosaur Cupcakes It was so delicious! I got a lot of compliments on these!

To keep things simple we served Creamies instead of ice cream and it was so perfect! Less messy and so good!

Party Favors

Graham CrackersI made homemade Graham Crackers (chocolate recipe here.) For party favors. It was so good! My sister-in-law said it tasted just like teddy grahams!

Dinosaur Gift BagsThese adorable little thank you gift bags were included in my celebrations banner kit. (Remember to check out the giveaway coming next on my blog!) I used the Stampin’ Up Stamps and Ink Pads. It was so awesome! I haven’t used stamps for a while and loved how I could be creative in which colors I used.

I was so excited to use washi tape for the first time too! It’s addicting! I love the pop of color it adds. Stampin’ Up has a lot of fun colors and designs to pick from!

Snacks/Drinks

Dinosaur Birthday PartyI had so many fun ideas to do for snacks but just didn’t end up having enough time. But what we had was enough and perfect. We had caramel popcorn- Snackosaurus! And drinks- Pteradrintal!

Games

Birthday Party GamesWe played T-Ball and had this fun questionnaire to help our guests get to know Levi better. We do this every birthday and it’s perfect! Levi thinks it’s fun too!

ColorosaurusThe kids loved coloring dinosaurs!

Dinosaur Birthday PartyIt was so fun having a dinosaur birthday party! It turned out so great and Levi was one happy 5 year old!

Awesome! You’re welcome. We might repeat this party this year because my younger son loves dinosaurs!
