Easy Green Smoothie

February 26, 2020 by becky 2 Comments

This Easy Green Smoothie is quick to prepare and packed full of healthy ingredients. Made with spinach, juicy pineapple, banana, and sweet apple, it’s tasty and delicious. Kid-approved too!

Easy Green Smoothie

I love a good green smoothie! Sometimes life gets so busy it seems like there isn’t enough time to make a smoothies as often as I would like. So for a year now I’ve been trying out different recipes for super simple smoothies. Sometimes in the past, I have just blended spinach, pineapple, and water. It was good enough for me but my kids didn’t like it.

Once I tried this recipe for EASY GREEN SMOOTHIE I knew I had found just what I was looking for! A SUPER SIMPLE, QUICK, AND TASTY smoothie recipe that my kids and I loved!

Smoothie Ingredients

The ingredients are so simple! You just need:

Banana

Pineapple Chunks

Apple (a sweet variety, like Gala or Fuji)

Spinach

Water, Apple Juice, or Coconut Water

Easy Green Smoothie

Easy Green Smoothie Health Benefits:

Spinach- Rich in minerals, vitamins, fiber, antioxidants, protects against diseases… I could go on and on!

Banana- Loaded with essential vitamins and minerals, is a mood and energy booster.

Pineapple- Vitamin C, boost the immune system, rich in antioxidants, makes your skin glow.

Water, Apple Juice or Coconut Water- Water is always a good idea! Apple juice does have natural sugars but by adding 1/2 water and 1/2 apple juice my kids like the smoothie better. You can add whichever liquid you prefer though! The original recipe calls for 3/4 cup coconut water. This is a good option too because coconut water has antioxidants, is a good source of nutrients, low in calories, boost energy levels, and much more!

Optional to add, either or both of these next two ingredients.

Chia Seeds- Iron, Calcium, fiber, antioxidants, plant protein, omega 3’s, boosts energy and metabolism.

Flax Seed- Great source of omega-3, fiber, healthy hormone balance, anti-inflammatory, immune-boosting.

If you would like this smoothie to be creamier, you can add some Greek yogurt. (Around 1/3-1/2 cup.)

All these health benefits I listed above are amazing and it’s only a small description of how wonderful each of these ingredients is!
