And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land

Ingredients

For the Bars:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

For the Topping

  • 8 oz. cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (melted)
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 cups mixed berries

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray.
  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the sugar, powdered sugar, and butter for about 3 minutes or until light and fluffy. Mix in the vanilla and eggs. Beat until smooth. Scrape down the sides if needed. Add the baking powder and salt and mix until combined. Then slowly add in the flour, and beat until just combined.
  • Using a spatula, evenly spread the cookie dough into the prepared pan. Bake for 12-14 minutes, do not overbake.
  • Cool completely.

For the Topping:

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Slowly beat in the melted white chocolate and mix on medium speed until smooth and lighter in color, about 2-3 minutes. Scrape the sides of the bowl if necessary. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture on top of the cooled cookie crust. Top with the berries and keep in the fridge to chill until ready to serve. Cut into bars and enjoy!

Notes

To make the cream cheese/white chocolate frosting a little sweeter, add 1-2 tablespoons of powdered sugar.
