Mmm! Texas Toast! I love Texas Toast. It’s thick and chewy and with the garlic bread topping it takes it to beyond delicious! I love to have this along with Lasagna or pasta. I’m sure you’ve seen the boxes of garlic Texas Toast sold in the freezer section. I never buy it but my mom had it for us for dinner a while ago. It was really good but way too buttery and I couldn’t believe all the strange ingredients when I read the labels. So I decided I would make my own!

I couldn’t find a recipe I liked so I did my own thing. I bought a loaf of Texas Toast and topped it with a mixture of butter, minced garlic, parsley and salt and pepper. It was so quick to put together. And the topping is delicious.

To freeze the toast you place them on a baking sheet and freeze them for about 20 minutes.

Then you put them inside a labeled freezer zip-lock bag. It’s that easy! We are loving having this ready to go whenever we want it. I’ve warmed it up in the oven, toaster oven and on the stove-top and all ways are delicious! I’m loving this!

  1. I just made these since I had a loaf of Texas Toast I ended up not using for something else. They were so easy and we loved them! It will be great to have plenty on hand in the freezer.

    1. Did you use fresh garlic or powder?

  2. That’s awesome Natalie! I love having these in the freezer for a quick side-dish. They are addicting though!

  3. April Bailey says:

How long will these last in the freezer for?

    1. April- Mine never last more than a month! I’m pretty sure 3 months is about right to answer your question.

  4. This looks yummy but I would definitely choose a healthier bread. That bread, just like most other grocery store breads, probably has just as many or more “strange ingredients” in it as the freezer Texas toast.

  5. Just made this & it’s seriously awesome! My husband said better than any of those frozen garlic breads you can buy & cheaper too. This is my new “go to” recipe!
