One of our favorite family activities is to have a movie night together at home. My kids love to pick a movie and help me make snacks. Sometimes they like to rewatch our favorite movies but often they love watching movies for the first time. We are getting excited to watch Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie that is coming to DVD on September 12th.

Popcorn, of course, is one of our go-to snacks. Usually, we just have buttered popcorn but sometimes I like to switch it up and make something fun like this Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Popcorn or this delicious Sweet and Salty White Chocolate Popcorn. Movie night is such a great way to spend quality time with my family and snacks make it even better!

I shopped at Walmart to grab our snacks. I decided to try something different than buttered popcorn and so I got Pop Secret Kettle Corn, which is delicious! It has such a great taste with better ingredients. I love that it’s a great high-quality snack that I can feel good about sharing with my family.

Pop Secret goes great with Lance Crackers. I got the variety packs because we love both the ones with real peanut butter and real cheese. I love that there’s no high fructose corn syrup in it. This is also a great everyday snack for my kids because it’s portable, wholesome, flavorful and filling.

My kids are so excited for the Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie to arrive on DVD. We haven’t been able to see it in theaters yet since it’s no fun going with a baby and a toddler but the good news is you can pre-order it at Walmart today. The Captain Underpants DVD will be available in Walmart stores 9/12! Be sure to reserve your copy now by pre-ordering today! While supplies last. It’s going to be a popular one! I showed my boys the preview and they were giggling through out it. It’s the perfect movie for family night. It’s something fun for adults to watch too as it has a lot of hearts and explores the topic of true friendship.

Now let’s talk about this popcorn. I used to not think I was a big fan of white chocolate but boy was I wrong! When used in the right way it is so delicious! The popcorn is covered in the white chocolate and it’s a match made in heaven! Then mini pretzels and Peanut Butter M&M’s are added to up the sweet and salty factor.

My kids and I enjoyed this popcorn during movie night and we all loved it! We had some extra the next night for a football game we watched at home with my in-laws and they coudln’t get enough of it. This Sweet and Salty White Chocolate Popcorn is perfect for kids and adults!

Feel free to switch this recipe up a little. Some ideas would be to add different toppings like peanuts, different M&M’s flavors, broken up pretzel pieces, your favorite candy bar chopped up and whatever you think would taste great! You can even add more popcorn to the mix if you want the popcorn to be more lightly coated with the white chocolate. You could also cover the toppings along with the popcorn with the white chocolate.

This is my new go-to movie night, football night and party night recipe!

Sweet and Salty White Chocolate Popcorn

Ingredients

• 1 bag (3 oz.) Pop Secret Kettle Corn (or another flavor)
• 1 (11 oz.) bag good quality white chocolate chips
• 1 cup mini pretzels
• 1 cup Peanut Butter M&M's

Instructions

1. Pop the popcorn according to the package directions and discard any popcorn kernels. Add the popcorn to a large bowl.
2. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper.
3. Add the white chocolate chips to a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds then stir. Then microwave for 15 seconds at a time, stirring in between until melted and smooth.
4. Pour over the popcorn and stir until popcorn is evenly covered.
5. Spread the mixture into an even layer on the prepared cookie sheet and top with the mini pretzels and M&M's. (Press into popcorn if you want it to stick.) Let cool or place in freezer to help it set faster.
6. Enjoy!
