The Best YouTube Channels for Home Workouts. Free, convenient, and versatile!

op 5 YouTube Channels for Home Workouts

I am so grateful there are many options on YouTube for workouts! It’s such a blessing. After my first son was born, 11 years ago, workout DVD’s were the only way for me to workout at home. Now the options on YouTube are ENDLESS! Which sometimes can feel overwhelming. That is why today I am sharing my favorite YouTube workout channels and some tips for navigating YouTube to find exactly what workout you are looking for.

YouTube workout channels are amazing for so many reasons! It’s free, convenient, and versatile. It’s great for those who can’t get to the gym or just prefer to workout from home.

Making exercise a priority is one of the best things you can do for your health and happiness.

Reasons to Exercise:

There are MANY reasons but here are a few…

Improves mood- Did you know exercising for at least 90 minutes a week greatly reduces depression and anxiety? You’ll want to get your heart rate up in the range of 60-85% of your maximum heart rate. Google to find your target heart rate. Even if you don’t have depression or anxiety the same holds true for helping your mood. That’s why exercise is a mood booster! It promotes the release of feel-good chemicals, distracts you from your worries, and improves confidence.

Improves your overall health- Getting in shape not only gives you more energy it helps prevent many health issues.

Boosts your immune system

Keeps your bones strong

It helps you sleep better at night.

etc.!

As you know, I am not a fitness expert but over the years of doing YouTube workouts, the below channels are my favorite. To be honest, I am still a beginner when it comes to exercise but that’s the beauty of YouTube. There is something for everyone! Most workouts will have at least 1 if not 2 modification options. Tips:

Search YouTube for exactly what you are looking for such as a 20-minute workout for beginners, 30-minute cardio, low impact if you have a hurt foot, etc.

You can search each fitness channel by most popular videos, oldest or newest videos added. (Go to the fitness channel, click videos, then sort by.

Plan ahead which workouts you’ll do. You could pick out a workout for each day of the following week or pick the night before what you’d like to do the next day.

Decide exactly when you’ll workout. I’ve found as a busy mom, I either workout early in the morning or it doesn’t happen.

Save your workouts. You can categorize them however you prefer. I like to put workouts I’d like to do soon in my Watch Later folder. And I have 2 folders with my favorite workouts titled, “Favorite Strength Workouts” and “Favorite Cardio Workouts.”
