Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup butter, softened (1 ½ sticks)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup Christmas M&M’s, divided (1/2 cup in batter ½ on top)
- ¼ cup white chocolate chips (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Lightly spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer at medium speed, cream together the brown sugar, white sugar, and butter for about 3 minutes or until light and fluffy. Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Beat until smooth. Scrape down the sides if needed. Add the baking soda and salt and mix until combined. Then slowly add in the flour, beat until just combined. Mix in the 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of Christmas M&M's.
- Using a spatula, evenly spread the cookie dough into the prepared pan. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of Christmas M&M's and the white chocolate chips. Bake for 26-30 minutes, until lightly golden brown.
- Remove from oven, let cool, cut into bars and serve!
Notes
Tip: Add the white chocolate chips on top during the last 10 minutes of baking so they come out whiter instead of sometimes having a slightly light brown tint.
