A review of your favorite recipes from May, a little from my life and recipe inspiration for June!
I survived the month of May! My husband was gone to Europe for 16 days! He was there for his MBA program’s foreign business excursion. He had an amazing trip but we are all so happy he is home! Life is better together! I felt blessed that things went well being on my own for 2+ weeks, being pregnant, with my 4 kids, for that long. My mom was an angel and helped me out on the weekends.
I’m 22 weeks now with baby girl and had my ultrasound last week. I am so grateful that everything looks wonderful! She is cute as can be and we can’t wait to meet her!
Here’s a look back at May…

Becky’s Bites of Life:
My mom had the fabulous idea of us going to Logan for a weekend while my husband was away for a fun time for us all and to make the time with my husband away easier. We stayed with my cousin and another of my cousins was up for the weekend so we had a great time! If you live in Logan or visit you should check out the Bounce n’ Slide! My cousin owns it and all my kids (ages 1 1/2 – 9) had a BLAST there!
Favorite Food in Logan, Utah:
Of course, I had to eat all the best food while we were up there! My cousin who lived there for a few years helped me out with some awesome recommendations. Here were my favorites:
Herm’s Inn (Breakfast/Lunch)- See that giant pancake in the above picture? We got the family style meal and it was amazing!
Logan’s Heroes– I loved the Italian sub plus everyone was so nice there!
Crumble Cookies– The best cookies I’ve had! (Other than my own of course!) The chocolate chip cookies and sugar cookies are amazing!
Angie’s Restaurant– The scones and breakfast menu are our favorite. Kids get free ice cream too!
Morty’s Cafe– AMAZING hamburger and fries! I got the Yucatan burger and loved it!
Not dining places but I also recommend visiting Gossners Foods in Logan. They have the best cheese for a great price (love the hot pepper!) and ice cream to order. And Pepperidge Farm outlet has great prices on Goldfish etc.
And some more great places I didn’t get to try: Johnny O’ Spud Nuts, Tandoori Oven, El Toro Viejo, and Temptation Cupcake.
My boys finished Kindergarten and 3rd grade! I can’t believe they will both be in school all day in the fall. I love these two so much. It’s crazy to see them growing up so fast! I’m so happy they are such good buddies.
The last of our siblings is getting married this Wednesday, Derek’s youngest brother. We’re excited! As per tradition with my in-laws, we took me soon to be sister-in-law out to The Melting Pot to celebrate. It was a great time and of course, the food and dessert were amazing! We ordered the Spinach Artichoke Cheese Fondue, Candy Bar, and S’mores. The S’mores fondue was to-die-for!

Thoughts/Things I’m Loving Lately:
-Dreams come true! I finally was able to get a great blender! I’ve been wanting a Blendtec for the longest time and this week I got one! I’ve only used it once since I just got it but it made the smoothest smoothie! My son was so happy about that because he doesn’t like any seeds etc in his smoothies.
-Maternity clothes have thankfully changed for the better over the last 9 years since I had my first baby. There’s still a way to go. But I am so happy to have a comfy and cute pair of Maternity jeans thanks to these Rock Star jeans from Old Navy!
-As much as I love to cook I’m learning the simpler the better when it comes to feeding my kids. We had chicken nachos the other night and it was a hit! The best part was how quick and easy it was for me to prepare. What are your favorite quick and simple meals?
What products or things are you loving lately? I’d love to hear!
