Guess what?!
Baby #5 is due October 7th! We are super excited. I can’t believe I’ll have 5 kids!
I found out at only 3 weeks pregnant. My husband was about to go out of town. I kept it a secret but was super excited to tell him when he got back a couple days later. I made him 5 cookies and had a little sign that said, “We already have a little hive, let’s make it 5!”
I’m 15 weeks now and the best part of this pregnancy has been how excited my kids are. It has really surprised me! I think since they are a little older now than my last pregnancy, they really understand what’s going on. My oldest two have been super helpful lately which is so sweet and nice. Carina has been making up the cutest little songs about the baby.
I haven’t been too sick, mostly tired. Hence a little lack of blogging lately. (Sorry!) I take a little nap most days while my little guy is sleeping so that’s really cut out the time I can put into my blog since that ‘s when I used to make recipes and photograph them. But I have so many great ideas to share with you all, I won’t give it up, just take it a little easy for now. My husband will graduate from his MBA program in a couple of months (YAY!) so that will help give me more time too.
To make these super cute Graham Cracker Letters, I bought the cutest 3-inch cookie cutters. I have so many fun ideas in mind for these!
I made my trusty homemade Graham Cracker recipe. I love this recipe for so many reasons but one reason is that it holds its shape really well and you don’t even need to chill the dough. It’s much quicker and easier to work with than sugar cookie dough. I baked it for about 10-11 minutes so it was softer and more cookie like.
For the # and 5, I just typed it up in Microsoft Word, printed it, cut it out, traced it, then cut it out of the dough using a knife. (Font is Janda Manatee Solid, size 275.)
Then I bought the cutest sprinkles from Texan Sprinkles, Girl Talk.
Once the Graham Crackers were cooled down, I place them in the freezer so they would be firmer to work with. Then melted some chocolate (I used the dark chocolate snaps from Orson Gygi.) Used a spoon to top it with chocolate and then added the sprinkles. And this was the result! I love it how it turned out! It was very delicious too!
(This picture is from about a month ago. I’m definitely showing now!) I’m excited to add another cutie to my little crew. I have 3 boys and a girl so it will be fun to see what the gender is! (Not until the end of May.) We are so grateful and excited!
Congratulations!
Thank you! 🙂
