Gender Reveal Chocolate Covered Oreos- A fun and super easy way to announce the gender of your baby!
Did you catch my last post? I announced we are pregnant with baby #3 and we couldn’t be more excited! We were lucky this time to get an early ultrasound at 16 weeks to find out the gender and I am so excited to let you all know!! We have two adorable boys right now and were so excited to find out the gender.
I have been having fun brainstorming ideas for a reveal but honestly, it wasn’t until after the ultrasound I decided on making these Chocolate Covered Gender Reveal Oreos. I didn’t have a lot of time that day so I made up this fun idea last minute and was pleased how great it turned out as well as extremely delicious!
So is it a girl or a boy!? What do you think? Everyone was insistent on us having a girl since we have two boys but we love our boys to pieces and were so excited either way! Just so excited to be having another baby.

Yay! We are so excited! Our boys think it’s so cool because it will be something different. We have a LOT of shopping ahead of us and I am excited for a new adventure! I was also happy that my intuition was right. I swear I knew my boys were boys and felt just as much this baby was a girl.
This gender reveal is crazy easy! All you need is however many Double Stuffed Oreos you need for your reveal, sprinkles, and chocolate. Twist open the Oreo then press sprinkles into it. Dip in chocolate and you are done! We took these to my in-laws and they cut into it and they were just thrilled! They thought it was a fun idea and you won’t believe how amazing this tastes! Oreos are my favorite store-bought cookie and cover it in chocolate and you will be in chocolate heaven! Crunchy Oreo, creamy white filling, smooth, creamy chocolate and a fun reveal!

I think this is the cutest idea! One even I can do! (Not that I am pregnant or anything!) seriously though I love love love this idea!
Thank you Carly! I was really happy how cute it turned out!
Oh Congrats!!! I have 5 boys and I love them to pieces… We recently adopted and yes it was a boy also … It’s nice to have some pink in your life. I am sure your boys will be great big brothers!
Thanks Suzie! That’s awesome. I love having boys. 5 boys would be even crazier but so much fun!
Hi Becky, thanks so much for the fun idea! And congrats on having a baby girl-so exciting 🙂 I’m due with twins this March and I’m finding out the genders in a week. I’m a baker at heart but feel that this is such a great way to reveal the genders without spending a lot of time in the kitchen! I might even feel a little more crafty and write “baby A” and “Baby B” on the cookies in frosting. Thanks again!
Thanks Holly! Congrats on having twins, that is really exciting! I’d love to hear what genders you are having when you find out. That’d be so cute to label them!
So I’m having a Baby Boy and Baby Girl! Thank you again Becky for the great idea! I made a few adjustments since I was having both a boy and girl. I found that colored (red and blue) sugar crystals adhere better to the cookie than regular sprinkles. Also, the red crystals showed up nicely against vanilla oreos and blue crystals with the regular chocolate oreos. Lastly, I was having a tough time with making the chocolate dip from scratch so I had my hubby run out and buy the “Bakers” chocolate dip, which you microwave and then dip the cookie into-it made the process much easier and cut the time in half! Thanks again 🙂
Congratulations Holly!! That is so exciting. I’m happy for you! Thanks for letting me know how you changed the recipe. 😀
Just curious how long it takes for the corn syrup to set and the chocolate to set? I’m making these today for the gender reveal of our baby boy for our family tomorrow! 🙂
Laurel- So sorry, just saw this comment! It just depends on the room temperature but to make the chocolate set quicker just freeze the Oreos for about 5-10 minutes or stick it in the fridge until set. And a big congrats on your baby boy! That’s so exciting!
LOVE this idea! I was looking for something fun and easy for work and this will work PERFECT! 🙂 Thanks for the idea!
You’re welcome! I created this idea because I wanted something super simple, quick and fun! 🙂
These are so cute! My husband and I made these but used an easier method for us. We bought pink vanilla frosting and the Bakers chocolate dip. We also did a mix of both the golden vanilla oreos and the standard oreos. The frosting allowed the cookie to stick instantly instead of messing around with corn syrup. With the chocolate dip all we had to do was microwave it and dip them! SO much of a time saver compared to the other recipes we tried. Family loved the reveal! We actually sent packages to our out of town family and only had one cookie with the pink center so that everyone had to bite the cookie at the same time to see who had the mystery gender cookie. It was a lot of fun as we watched via skype/facetime.
That’s so much fun! I loved how you changed it up to work better for you. And congrats!! 🙂
Hi there, how far in advance can you make these and do you have any recommendations for storage?
I would say you could make it a few days in advance but just note at times the chocolate covering isn’t as pretty after the first day. I would store it in an airtight container at room temperature. (But in a cool place.)
