Becky’s Bites of Life (November)

November 5, 2013 by becky 10 Comments

hello novembervia

Welcome November! This is going to be a good month! Not only do we have Thanksgiving and early Christmas shopping to look forward to my cute little boy is turning 2 the day before Thanksgiving!

October was a great month on the blog. I shared a lot of delicious recipes and had some fabulous guest bloggers helping me celebrate my 3 year blogiversary.

My most popular recipe in October was…

Cinnamon RollsCinnamon Rolls

My Favorite Post from October was..

Pumpkin Cookie Dough Truffles Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles

I realized my posts were all desserts! As you know desserts are my favorite and I feel like I am best at creating new dessert recipes than anything else but I also how important it is to be balanced in all things so I am going to bring more healthy recipes to my blog from now on. To kick this off, I am declaring next week Kale Week! I hope you are excited! I have 2 amazing recipes to share with you along with a round up of Kale recipes I will share at the end of the week. If you have any Kale recipes you love feel free to share with me the link and I will include it in my round up.

Becky’s Bites of Life:

appleAfter baking quite a few new recipes earlier in October I was feeling like my body needed a sugar detox! So I took a week off of sugar and I can’t tell you how awesome it was! I was surprised that I didn’t crave it at all. The hardest part was figuring out what to eat for breakfast since so many things I usually eat for breakfast have some sugar in it. (Cereal, toast w/ jam etc.) The best part of the whole experience was I ate a lot healthier and my boys joined in with me! Like in my Instagram pic above I was eating an apple and my boys joined me. Also, my son who is 4 1/2 has hated bananas all his life and during this week while I was eating a banana he came over and took a bite and said he loves banana’s! lol Kind of weird he suddenly changed his mind since he tries it every now and then.

IMG_20131016_120637My favorite day in October was my birthday! My husband made it such a special day for me. He took the day off work and his mom watched our boys while we went on a fun lunch date together. We had lunch at Red Robin where I got my favorite hamburger, The Bleu Ribbon Burger. It was SO good! (One time we made it at home, find the recipe here.) Then we watched Captain Phillips. We really liked it!

IMG_20131018_234542Later in the day we went to Pumpkinland. A fun little family owned farm. The kids had a lot of fun. I love this picture of Derek & Levi.

Minions

Last but not least my little cuties on Halloween! Cutest minions ever. They had a fun night trick or treating!

I hope you all have a happy November! What are you most excited about this month?

Black Friday is always fun! I just do on-line Black Friday/ Cyber Monday now though. It’s too tough to go shopping crazy hours with little boys.

Looks like you had a fun month! We went apple picking instead of pumpkin picking this year. Next year I hope we can do both. Happy belated birthday!

I am really looking forward to Thanksgiving. My husband works really long hours each week, so to have a few days off for him is a big deal and we will soak it up!

I love your October recap, what a fun idea especially for people who didn’t have a chance to read your blog every day. And your truffles look delicious by the way.
