Marinated Grilled Pork Chops

June 18, 2013 by becky 26 Comments

A simple and flavorful marinade for the most tender and delicious Marinated Grilled Pork Chops you’ll ever have!

Marinated Pork Chops

I am excited to share a recipe for the grill today!  Ever since we got our first grill two years ago we have loved using it! It never ceases to amaze me how much better food tastes when it’s grilled.

I haven’t had many pork chops in my life but I’ve never been too impressed with them. That is until last week when we marinated them and grilled them. This recipe is fantastic! And it’s so easy.

The marinade comes together quickly.  It’s basically a mixture of soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, a touch of brown sugar and other spices. Let the pork chops marinade for a few hours, then grill it and you are ready for a delicious dinner!  These were so tender, juicy and packed full of flavor! My kids loved it too which is always an awesome thing.

Marinated Grilled Pork Chops

The best marinade for making juicy and tender pork chops!

Prep Time 5 minutes
Cook Time 14 minutes
Total Time 19 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 pork chops
  • 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil (or another neutral oil like avocado oil or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown mustard or gourmet mustard blend
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 clove garlic finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash chops and pat dry. Put in a large food storage bag. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over the chops. Seal the bag and turn to coat the pork chops. Refrigerate for *3 to 6 hours, turning occasionally.
  2. Grill the chops over high heat for 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until the chops register about 160° on an instant read thermometer.

Notes

*I was gone for the day so I marinated mine for 8 hours and it was fine.

To cook in the oven: Bake at 400 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.

We used this marinade for thick cut Iowa Chops. They turned out juicy and delicious. Do you have any thoughts on marinating and then freezing the chops? I had a hard time throwing away the remaining marinade so I thought I would do a bunch for the next bbq.

Honestly I’m not sure. I would imagine it would be ok if the meat hasn’t already been frozen. If you do this let me know how it turns out. Thanks!

Loved these pork chops with your marinade. Usually grilled pork chops are very tough but these were absolutely fabulous. I will make them again and again. Thanks so much. The marinade was easy to make and was delicious.

I buy our meat from a local butcher… For years, before freezing my steaks of beef or pork, even chicken, I portion them in gallon freezer bags, then pour various marinades in the bags, turning to coat, then freeze… By the time they freeze, the marinade sets into the meat… And when thawing, the infusion seems to resume… I ALWAYS cook meat after letting it come to room temp, insuring middle doesn’t stay cold… They turn out AWESOME!! 😉
